Private Amaziah Grover, a Continental Soldier, born in CT 1755, lived/served in Alstead in 1775, Boston, Saratoga, settled in Brookfield Vermont prior to its Charter, on Northfield Road, in a house I lived in also. He died 1842. In later life he and his first wife, Dorcus West, lived together with their daughter’s family in the home. His second wife was Joanna Hutchinson. Hezekiah and Lodemia Grover Williams had 3 children. The 1840 census reports 11 persons in Hezekiah’ household. Hezekiah’ s father, Asher Sr, served in the same commands as Amaziah. Asher died in the War of 1812, 12/1812, in Champlain, NY. I found a bayonet in the attic. It fits over the barrel of a Brown Bess. Some stories that house holds. I am always seeking more information.
